Possession SynopsisSarah Michelle Gellar stars as Jess, a woman whose life is torn apart when her husband, Ryan (Michael Landes), and brother-in-law, Roman (Lee Pace), crash in a horrific car accident. Both brothers end up in comas, with little hope of recovery. But Roman wakes up and, when he does, insists he is her husband. As time goes on, Jess struggles with the possibility that the spirit of her beloved husband has returned to her in the body of her brother-in-law, or that something much more sinister is at work.

2016's Most Underrated Movies

Just yesterday I broke down the year's most Overrated Films  and now I want to to turn my attention to the more surprising and lesser known titles that proved to be worthwhile watches. As always, when you conjure up a list of this kind, it's important to outline the specific criteria that's used to determine the rankings. Below is a description of the factors I use to measure and classify a movie as underrated: Criteria:  The two most heavily weighted components I use are awards season recognition and box office totals. If a movie sneaks a Globe or SAG Nomination, sorry but it won't be on this list (i.e. Captain Fantastic and The Edge of Seventeen ). Also, I try to identify movies that struggle to push $10 million at the box office. The Best of the 2016 Philadelphia Film Festival

Sadly, the 25th annual Philadelphia Film Festival has come and gone. One of my favorite yearly events produced an amazing film lineup throughout its 11-day span of uninterrupted movie-watching, making 2016 the city's most impressive festival to date. I was only able to catch 17 films in total, a slightly lower figure than usual, but I'm thrilled to look back and recognize my "Best of the Fest" selections ( here's a look back at the 2015 festival ). Keep an eye out for these picks in the upcoming months, because many of them are guaranteed to garner acclaim during this year's Oscar run.
